Oil Kings At Pats Tonight

The Regina Pats (10-11-3) host the Edmonton Oil Kings (8-11-2) tonight at 7:00 in the Brandt Centre.

It's a big game within the WHL's East Conference as the Pats go in holding down the final playoff spot in the East Conference, and are just two points ahead of Edmonton.

Regina also enters the night just a point back of the P.A. Raiders, and have a home record of 9-5-1. The Pats have won five of their past 10 games.

The Oil Kings are 4-5-2 on the road, and have won just two of their past 10 games.

620 CKRM has the broadcast tonight beginning with the Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 6:35pm. For all things Pats, look below for the Pats Weekly update.

Looking forward to the game tonight as it is the last home game until Dec.I see the Pats come out and just tearing it up tonight. You know it's funny how this time last year people were saying that the Pats have a team that could make a run. Until Christmas that is but we wont go back there again. Now this year people are yelling to tear it apart and start over I would think you people would know that anything can happen.

OOOOOOO Me To, Me To, I am so excited about the game tonight, that if I am not careful I might actually end up having an accident. LOL
Ed, I absolutely love your optimism, and I only wish I had a quarter of the amount as yourself.
However the Pats successes as a franchise over the years, please tell me if I am wrong; but I feel is has to be about 15+ years now. Ever since Mr Parker and Mr Ripplinger have been trying to build this franchise into a contender. I realize Rome wasn't built in a day, but I don't think it took 15+ years either. LOL
Ed, you, I and the rest of the Pats fans in this city know that the Pats even with Eberle and Teubert do not have the talent, or the ability to make a legitimate run in the playoffs.
It has come time to wipe the slate clean and start over. I only fear that if the Pats do not make the necessary moves and now. More fans will eventually leave and pretty soon there will only be Rod, Ed, and I sitting at Evraz watching hockey.
Lets look back on a bleak history in Riderville shall we? I hate mentioning this because it was almost a sad, sad time for the us in SK. However it's history, and I feel it is somewhat relevent so I feel I must make mention of it. Just how many sad, pathetic, dissapointing season did the Riders have in the late 70's, 80's, and 90's. It took a while, but eventually fans stopped showing up, and had finally had enough of supporting this floundering franchise. Yes can you believe it, that this proud organization that is playing on Sunday in the West Division Final, actually came very close to folding the tent. This team was on life support, and it looked like the end was inevitable. However the Riders were able to hold a telathon and make the proper changes needed to win, and the people responded in a big way. This turned a bleak time in Riderville. Into a proud and successful franchise that again is likely one of the richest CFL franchises that there is right now.
P.S. Go Riders
The Pats attendance is down this year, and actually quite substantial from years previous.
I don't see a huge attendance fluctuation next season, and with the way the team is playing it might not ever happen unless this team wins. We know this team cannot go on a long run, and is sitting last in the division. It is time to pull the plug, and try to make this team a winner. It has been proven that if teams win, the fans will come. However if the team remains status quo and does not show improvements. The seats become emptier and emptier each year until the.he fans respond. I say unfortunately it is time to make the changes now, and try and build for the future. We all know this team does not have the talent to win NOW, and even though we all want them too, it is unfair to ask Eberle and Teubert to stay on this team. They should not have to finish their WHL careers on a team that does not have enough guns to make a legitimate run.

I guess I just feel that it is to early to ripe it down to build new this second. Sure if this team tanks come Christmas time sure do it than but not now.
